Open Science Festival 2024
On 22nd October 2024, the 4th edition of the Netherlands National Open Science Festival will take place at the School of Business and Economics (SBE) faculty of Maastricht University. This Dutch festival is for the entire open science community and beyond.
NERQ Train-the-Trainer on RCR education
NERQ is happy to announce a Train-the-Trainer event in Brussels on 17th – 18th October 2024. The European Commission invites those who have just started or are planning to offer training on Research Integrity (RI), Open Science (OS), and Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) to learn from their peers.
Scientific Integrity Symposium - 'How can we detect fraud and ensure the quality and integrity of research?'
Join us on Monday, September 23, at the Roeterseiland campus for a full-day event on scientific integrity. UvA Open Science coordinator Frans Oort will open the event, followed by talks from international experts on detecting scientific fraud, Elisabeth Bik and Ben Mol, as well as national experts on research integrity Mariëtte van den Hoven and Gerben ter Riet. The event is free and includes lunch and networking drinks. You can choose to attend either the morning session, the afternoon session, or both, depending on your availability and interests.

1st Satellite Meeting of Research Integrity Networks
The Netherlands Research Integrity Network (NRIN) and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA – co-organiser of the 8th World Conference on Research Integrity) will be organising the 1st Satellite Meeting of Research Integrity Networks on 3rd June 2024, from 18:30 – 20:30, at Crowne Plaza Hotel Hippocrates Meeting Room in Athens, Greece.

8th World Conference on Research Integrity
The biennial WCRIs cater to all disciplinary fields, all professional ranks, and all career stages and involve all stakeholders in research integrity, including universities, research institutes, research funders, publishers, and governments. The conferences are lively and interactive, and the program consists of a mix of research findings, reflection and policy development. Conferences typically produce influential policy statements such as the Singapore Statement, the Hong Kong Principles, and the Cape Town Statement.
Invitation to the National Research Ethics Meeting
Members and affiliates of ethics review boards are cordially invited to attend the kick-off of the collaboration between NETHICS and NRIN with the interactive symposium ‘Research ethics across scientific disciplines’. In the last decade, ethics review of scientific research has become commonplace and local ethics committees have been installed in most faculties and institutes.
The collaboration between NETHICS and NRIN aims to bring together human research ethics committees across scientific disciplines and provide a platform for discussion and sharing of best practices.
SAVE THE DATE: Launch Dutch Reproducibility Network -October 27th, 2023, Amsterdam
This autumn the Dutch Reproducibility Network (NLRN) organizes a symposium to officially launch it’s recent establishment. The central mission of the NLRN is to foster reproducible and transparent research across scholarly disciplines, by faculitating the discussion of challenges and opportunities of research reproducibility and encourage new collaborations around this important topic.
NERQ (online event) Education and Research Quality – Expanding the Network
Since the network’s launch in November 2022, people have joined the network and been active in various thematic groups (SIGs). On September 20, the network organizes an online half-day conference, to showcase it’s activities, find inspiration to continue connecting on education in research quality (broadly understood comprising research integrity, research ethics, responsible innovation, reproducibility and open science), and seek new challenges and opportunities. The theme for this conference is ‘expanding the network’. Anyone interested in the field is welcome to participate.
NERQ Continues its Work – Strengthening Research Integrity and Quality
The Network for Education and Research Quality (NERQ) will continue its mission to foster research integrity, research ethics, and open science after its successful first hybrid conference in Brussels, hosted by the European Commission. More than 150 participants registered for the conference to gain insights into 11 trending topics related to RI, RE and OS provided by 11 Special Interest Groups.
