Research Integrity in the Netherlands
In October 2018, The Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (link) was adopted by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), the Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU), the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), Associated Applied Research Institutes (TO2 federation), the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences and the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU). In practice, this means that these institutions adhere to this code of conduct as the guiding principle for its integrity policy.
This page provides an overview of the relevant research integrity initiatives at the Dutch universities, university medical centers, universities of applied sciences and funding organizations.
If you have concerns about research integrity-related issues, a confidential advisor is the first point of contact. The committees for scientific integrity (in Dutch: Commissie Wetenschappelijke Integriteit) are responsible for handling official complaints related to research integrity.
